December Spay Neuter Clinic

The City of Las Vegas and San Miguel County have been the lucky recipients of low-cost spay/neuter services provided by the Santa Fe Animal Shelter mobile clinic and the Animal Welfare Coalition for several years. On an almost monthly basis, approximately 100 dogs and cats are spayed or neutered preventing thousands of unwanted litters. In addition, dozens of companion animals are vaccinated and microchipped in an effort to keep our four-legged friends healthy and safe.

Currently, we have a final clinic for 2011 scheduled for December 10th and 11th. Each day of the mobile clinic costs the AWC $2200. Due to the current economic climate, donations and reimbursements for services have been lower than usual, and unless we receive some urgently needed funds, this clinic will have to be canceled. The waiting list to receive these low-cost services is multiple pages long. Our community wants to put unwanted litters, and the resulting abuse and neglect of dogs and cats, to an end but we need your help. Any contribution you can make towards this clinic can help prevent thousands of unwanted litters.
